Regular oil changes prolong your car engine lifetime.
The main purposes of engine oil are:
to lubricate moving parts
to clean the engine and prevent corrosion
to cool the engine by carrying heat away from moving parts
Did you know that the car manufacturer oil change interval is in many cases too long for Finnish conditions – regardless of what the service indicator in the menu shows!
Car manufacturers specify the oil change interval for either normal or severe operating conditions, commonly 30,000 or 15,000 km. As a rule we all drive in severe conditions – short distances (up to 20 km) and city driving (start-stop), during which the engine does not warm up properly. As a result the engine wears more and combustion residues build up, drastically shortening the oil life. We recommend changing the oil after 10,000 km.
Engine oil must be changed at least once a year regardless of annual mileage. Oil becomes contaminated with fuel and condensation water, which reduces its lubricating properties and can cause engine failure.
Modern combustion engines are equipped with exhaust after-treatment systems and require low-ash engine oil. Using the wrong oil is often the cause of expensive failures, e.g. of the catalytic converter or particulate filter.

NEW TYRE LABELLING STANDARD30-07-2021 12:08Europe is the first region in the world to use ice tyre icons on tyres. In addition, the labels have an iceberg symbol and a QR code that opens a European database. The amendment shall take effect on 1st of May. The new labels are meant to help consumers better compare different tyres and to lead them to choose safer, more environmentally friendly ones. -
